Ecumenical Patriarchate

WHEN YOU COME TO THE CHURCH
For the First Time
Please enter through the steel gate and front door, and you will find yourself in the entrance area which we call the narthex. You can stay there and simply observe, or you can come through the double doors into the main part of the church. There is no fixed rule, but men tend to stand on the side nearest to the road, and ladies on the left on the garden side. Do not worry that you may not know what to do.

You are not expected
to do anything, On Sundays, we normally have refreshments after the service and, if you wish, you can have a conversation with someone who will explain a little bit about what you have seen and heard and you can ask whatever questions you may have.
Please note
that only Orthodox Christians may receive Holy Communion, but you are most welcome to receive a piece of blessed bread at the end of the service after the dismissal prayer.
